The Brief

An Urban development of laboratory and workspace that meets the evolving standards of tomorrow’s requirements. The brief is for a new people-centric design that creates a sense of community for resident companies and forms strong connections with the wider community, alongside a strong focus on carbon reduction in both construction and operation.

Concept

The site provides six buildings clustered around a central amenity garden and biodiverse water feature, a pedestrian biodiverse heart to the masterplan. To create a workplace that supports the future generation, the design is inherently flexible and technologically enabled to create a campus that is market leading targeting WELL Platinum Certification as well as BREEAM outstanding, LETI and LEED Platinum Certification.

Features

The water feature at the heart of the scheme has numerous benefits; it provides an attractive outlook for tenants and sustainable urban drainage by capturing run-off from roofscape and hard-scape areas. Naturally cooled air from water fountains across the site is drawn into the buildings through perforated façades, contributing to the passive cooling strategy.
