The Brief

Meridian Water Station is a new station in London Borough of Enfield, it forms an integral part of a regeneration programme. Our brief is to enhance proposals by others to obtain CABE and planning approvals and to develop designs through Network Rail GRIP process to completion.

Concept

Understanding the place to identify the stations role within the wider context. To enhance earlier proposals and respond to CABE by introduction of transparency and through attention to detail and the use of materials. Deliver quality and programme benefits through offsite fabrication.

Features

The application of large scale pre-fabricated structural elements over an existing operational railway line to assist the construction programme. A dramatic floating roof and flanking campanile features act as a beacon in the landscape. The station allows step-free access and a 24-hour public right of way over the railway while making passive provision for Crossrail 2.
